CLIMATE ACTION & RESILIENCE
The future of dairy depends on the health of the planet. That’s why One Evolve drives science-based climate action across our supply chain to cut emissions, conserve resources and accelerate circularity.

OUR GOALS FOR 2030 & BEYOND
Reduce Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 55% by 2030
Maintain use of 100% renewable electricity
Reduce water usage intensity by 15% by 2030
Plant a minimum of 300,000 trees and hedging by 2030
Move to 100% recyclable packing by 2030
Reduce food waste and general waste by 15% by 2030
USING LESS. RUNNING SMARTER.
Energy use across our manufacturing sites plays a critical role in meeting our carbon targets. We monitor performance closely and work continuously to reduce it. Real-time measurement and control systems help our teams identify waste quickly and correct it early. Practical operating guides support every site to run leaner, while our most energy-intensive facilities are certified to ISO 50001.

CUTTING CARBON TO POWER A CLEANER FUTURE
We’re making measurable progress on Scope 1 and 2 emissions through planned carbon reduction initiatives, continuous process improvements, and disciplined investment. All of our sites and offices now run on 100% renewable electricity, and we have already achieved a 70,000-tonne reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions compared to our 2017 baseline.

PROTECTING OUR PLANET’S MOST VITAL RESOURCE
We’re reducing withdrawal, improving efficiency and protecting the local sources our sites depend on. Our target is a 15% reduction in water use intensity by 2030, achieved through tighter monitoring, better process control and practical improvements on the ground.

Minimising waste at every step
Our waste strategy is centred on enhanced waste segregation, process optimisation, and active employee engagement. We remain committed to Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWTL) across our operations, maintaining high recycling and recovery rates across multiple waste streams. At the same time, we’re reducing food waste through tighter monitoring, smarter controls and constant improvement on the line and through employee awareness initiatives. These initiatives are underpinned by a strong culture of resource efficiency, even as our operations evolve and expand.

WORKING WITH THE LAND.
Our approach is simple. Make full use of the land we occupy, without compromising its long-term health. Across our sites, we’re actively protecting and restoring natural habitats. We’ve established wildflower corridors, introduced beehives and nesting platforms, and created safe spaces for pollinators and native species to return. We have also encouraged natural circularity by allowing large areas of grassland at our sites to grow wild with only maintenance cutting completed annually to continue to allow the area’s flourish.

PACKAGING THAT DOES MORE WITH LESS
We’re redesigning our packaging to reduce impact without compromising performance. That means using less virgin plastic, increasing recycled content and removing materials that are difficult to recycle. Across our sites, we’re lightweighting formats, optimising design with customers and investing in packaging capabilities that allow for more recyclable and reusable solutions.

Our climate roadmap
We’re committed to reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 55% by 2030. That target is backed by operational improvements across our sites and continued investment in regenerative farming practices that lower on-farm emissions year after year. Through close collaboration with our customers, we will continue to explore joint sustainability partnership projects that accelerate progress across our value chain.
